Two men were wounded, one fatally, in a spray of bullets during a gathering in a Brooklyn playground early Sunday, police said.
The victims were hanging out in Powell Playground on Glenmore Ave. near Powell St. in Brownsville when shots rang out about 12:35 a.m., police said.
Medics rushed a 42-year-old man shot in the stomach to Brookdale University Hospital, but he could not be saved. His name was not immediately released.

A 41-year-old man blasted multiple times in his legs was taken to the same hospital in stable condition, cops said.
At least one gun was recovered by cops at the scene, but no arrests have been made.
The killing comes amid a sharp drop in homicides and shootings in Brooklyn’s 73rd Precinct, which saw just two slayings through July 27, compared with 14 in the same time period last year, an 86% drop. Shootings are down more than 40% in the precinct this year, NYPD stats show.
