A 15-year-old boy died early Friday as he tried to ride the top of a subway train at a Queens station, police said.
Cops called to the Queensboro Plaza station found the teen lying unconscious on the train tracks for the No. 7 line at about 2:45 a.m., police said.
EMS rushed the teen to Bellevue Hospital, where he died of his injuries. His name was not immediately disclosed.
Cops later determined that the teen was either riding the top of a No. 7 train entering the station or attempting to get onto the top of the train when he fell off.

Last month in the Bronx, a 14-year-old subway surfer was critically injured when he fell from the top of a train, cops said.
The boy was riding on top of a northbound No. 5 train with two other teens when he fell and landed on the track bed near the Baychester Ave. stop about 3:15 p.m. on June 16, cops said.
Medics rushed the teen to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was listed in critical but stable condition. Cops arrested a 17-year-old subway surfer at the station, charging him with reckless endangerment and trespass.
Six people, most of them teens, died subway surfing in the city last year, cops said. The youngest was just 11.

So far this year, three people have died in subway surfing incidents. Cops have also arrested 79 people for subway surfing, nine fewer than by this time last year.
Over the past few months, cops and the MTA have taken a multi-prong approach to discourage thrill seekers. In June, the MTA ramped up their “Ride Inside and Stay Alive” campaign featuring Queens-born BMX Athlete Nigel Sylvester.
The NYPD also began flying drones along above-ground subway lines to keep an eye out for subway surfers.
